Otzi the Iceman

21st September 2018
Year 3 and 4 turned detective this week as they looked at various pieces of evidence and used their findings to discover what fate Otzi met on the mountainside 5300 years ago.  Otzi was discovered in 1991 in the Italian Tyrolean mountains by two German tourists and was scientifically identified as a Stone Age Hunter. After looking at pictures and objects that were found with the Iceman the children came to the conclusion that after eating a meal of meat, herbs and bread Otzi was injured by an arrow in his shoulder, he then collapsed and his attacker then hit him over the head with a rock to finish him off! This ties in with what the experts found. We have some budding Sherlocks in our school!
