Christ Church

Our Local Church - Christ Church, Coalville

As a Church of England school, we are proud of our history and tradition within the local community and especially our links to the Parish Church of Christ Church with whom we share a close relationship. Christ Church and the Church community enriches the religious character of our school.

Rev. Gill Pinnington is the vice chair of our school's governing body and plays an important part in ensuring the school's vision, Christian ethos and Christian values are embedded into daily school life.

Visit the church's website here, to find more information about the church and services they offer.

Collective Worship

Gill and members of the Christ Church community have played an active part in enriching our collective worships. Every Thursday, we have a member of the Christ Church community come into school and lead our whole school Collective Worship.
Enhancing Our Learning

Our link with Christ Church has enabled us to extend the children's learning and engage them in the wider Christian community. We were supported in learning about Pentecost and the children designed a Pentecost banner which is now being displayed in the church. Over the past academic year the church has provided support with events like Harvest,  Advent and Christmas. They are due to come into school and help with our whole school Easter afternoon. We also celebrated the Christ Church stained-glass windows being made into stamps, by designing our own stamps.

Future Plans

Christ Church have shown immense kindness and generosity in agreeing to fund the purchase of important resources for our children's learning. With this funding, we are going to purchase high-quality and engaging resources from different religions to enhance our RE teaching, and school-wide resources to enhance our collective worships. Thank you Rev. Gill and the whole Christ Church community.
