Love Shone Down
All Saints children ‘Let their Lights Shine’ to share a message of love this Christmas
The children at All Saints Church of England Primary School in Coalville, North West Leicestershire, had the wonderful idea of singing a song they could share with parents and the local community to bring some love and joy to everyone this Christmas. In support of the charity YoungMinds, the children wanted to reach out and share the joy and love of the Christmas story, reminding children across the country that ‘you are not alone’ in these challenging times.
“I have enjoyed singing and recording lines for the song, I hope other children can be inspired by this song”, 10 year old child from All Saints CE Primary.
“I know how difficult lockdown has been for some of our friends and families, we want people to know they are not alone this Christmas”, 11 year old child from All Saints CE Primary.
The song, Love Shone Down, original words and music by Chaz de Whalley and Andy Piercy, has been rearranged, recorded, and produced by staff at All Saints. The recording which was inspired by Boyce & Stanley’s recording of the song, courtesy of CJM Music, includes the voices of over 100 children in school from four-year-olds in reception all the way up to 11-year-olds in year six.
Emma Thomas, CEO of YoungMinds said: “The coronavirus pandemic is adding to pressures young people are facing, and many are struggling with their mental health. Listening to the voices of the children from All Saints Church of England Primary School is so uplifting. Through this song they are showing each other and many more that they are not alone. On behalf of YoungMinds I want to thank
all the children and staff who have worked so hard.”
