Cave Art

14th September 2018
Herons, Kingfishers and Swans have been taking part in some exciting learning linked to their current topic. The children learnt about how fossils occur and had the opportunity to create a mould to cast their own fossil. In another session they created some cave art using authentic colours and symbols. The children worked on vertical surfaces to simulate the cave walls and even had the chance to lie on the floor and create their art on the underside of the tables as if they were Stone Age artists drawing on the ceilings of the cave.  As you can see they created a fantastic display of all their artwork.

Year 4 have been doing cave paintings this week. We used the walls and the underneath of our tables to complete our drawings and we used a spray bottle to sign our paintings as they would have back in the Stone Age.
