3D Shape Fun

15th April 2018
Year 1 put their knowledge of the properties of 3D shapes to the test on Thursday morning when they created their own 3D shapes using marshmallows and cocktail sticks.  They then had to name the shape they had created and give at least one of its properties using the correct mathematical vocabulary.  They made triangular based and square based pyramids, triangular prisms, cubes and cuboids. The children all managed to resist the urge to eat the building materials until the end of the lesson so were rewarded with some marshmallows as a treat. Everyone agreed it was a fun lesson.
